³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïcelebrates award recipients at 2020 ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏVirtual Conference

CHICAGO – The American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) of ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ï is celebrating the outstanding contributions its members have made to improve the health care physical environment. ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïpresented several awards during its first ever virtual conference October 5-7, 2020. The Crystal Eagle Leadership Award, considered ASHE’s lifetime achievement award, was presented to Wayne Klingelsmith, FASHE, CHFM. Presently, he is the principal for MSL Healthcare Partners, Inc. in Barrington, Illinois. Wayne’s faith, mentorship and his passion for guiding those after him in the field are among the key reasons why ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïselected him for the 2020 Crystal Eagle Leadership Award.

The ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏPresident’s Award, which is presented at the discretion of the sitting ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïpresident to an individual who goes above and beyond to optimize the health care physical environment, was presented to John F. DiGirolomo, MBA, CHFM, CHC, FASHE, currently the senior vice president at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY. DiGirolomo, who has been in health care facilities management field since 1981, has been an active ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïmember since 2003, most recently the co-chair of the ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏCOVID-19 task force and the chair of the CHFM Certification task force.

Also at the ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏVirtual Conference, ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïrecognized members who attained Fellow (FASHE) or Senior (SASHE) status within ASHE. 

The F³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïdesignation is bestowed upon those who have been ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïmembers in good standing for at least ten years and have contributed to the field through education, leadership and written contributions. The following members are new F³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïrecipients:
