Lunch & Learn Series:
If You Can't Take the Heat: Utilizing Heat Recovery Effectively

Description

Heat recovery is finding the lowest cost source of heat and bringing that heat to where it is needed, when it is needed. In a building with a simultaneous heating and cooling load requirements, the chilled water system can be used to capture the unwanted heat and transfer that heat to where it is required while realizing substantial savings and reducing a facilities carbon footprint.

Learner Objectives:

In this presentation we will discuss:

  • Heat recovery and how heat is captured and transferred using a chilled water system
  • The benefits of heat recovery and how they go beyond just meeting building code requirements
  • System applications such as Dedicated Heat Recovery and Passive Heat Recovery and how they may best be put into use in your facility

Speaker:

Jason Malek, Product Specialist – HVAC Chillers & Systems, Carrier

Jason has more than 26 years of sales, marketing and management experience with industry leading HVAC manufactures. His career focus has been in applied chilled water and heating systems, industrial and commercial mechanical applications, including building automation systems, performance contracting, service retrofits, and mechanical maintenance. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
