This year, two chapters earned the Bronze and Gold awards, respectively, marking a deepening partnership with ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïand successfully meeting a number of qualifying requirements. These include hosting a certain number of chapter education programs and providing official chapter communications in a given year.<br> <br> This year, 47 chapters from around the country participated in the awards program. Of those, 12 chapters earned Platinum Elite, 27 chapters earned Platinum level status, one chapter earned Gold Elite status, and seven chapters earned Bronze level status. For the first time in many years, the South Carolina Society for Hospital Engineers participated in the program, and for the first time, the Hawaii Society of Healthcare Engineering and the Healthcare Engineering Society of Greater New York participated, each earning Bronze-level status.<br> <br> One qualifying requirement is participation in ASHE’s Energy to Care Chapter Challenge, a friendly competition for chapters to reduce their energy consumption. The winners of this year’s Energy to Care Chapter Challenge, who were also celebrated at the Annual Conference in San Antonio, were the Arkansas Association for Healthcare Engineering in the Small Category (five to 15 enrolled hospitals) and the Texas Association of Healthcare Facilities Management in the Large Category (16 or more enrolled hospitals).</p> <p>Congratulations to this year’s award winners and to all the chapters that participated in the 2023 Chapter Awards! View the complete list of <a href="/chapters/chapterawards" target="_blank">Chapter Award winners</a> and <a href="/energytocare/chapter-challenge" target="_blank">Energy to Care Chapter Challenge winners</a>, and learn more about the awards, at <a href="/" target="_blank">ashe.org</a>.</p> <h3><a id="2" name="2"></a></h3> <h3><strong>Reminder: Request ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏAdvisory Board and Staff Experts at Your Chapter Events</strong></h3> <p>³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏAdvisory Board members and staff are available to speak at your chapter event by request, depending on availability.</p> <p>³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏAdvisory Board Regional Representatives are available to provide an update detailing what is going on in ASHE, at ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ï and in the field. Chapters that participate in the chapter awards program are eligible to request ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïprofessional staff members to present on a variety of topics in which they have expertise. Requests are fulfilled based on a variety of factors, including the speaker’s availability, and ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïdoes not guarantee that all requests will be granted. </p> <p>There are three types of chapter speaker requests. Please be sure to complete a separate request for each speaker. </p> <p><strong>1. ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏAdvisory Board Regional Representative Update.</strong> All chapters are eligible to receive a visit from their Advisory Board Regional Representative once during their two-year term. If your Regional Representative is unable to attend your event, ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïwill reach out to the Associate Member Representatives. If we are still unable to schedule an ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïupdate with an Associate Member Representative, we will reach out to the ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïpresident, president-elect and immediate past president. The complete list of Regional Representatives and Associate Member Representatives can be found <a href="/board" target="_blank">here</a>. </p> <p><strong>2. ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏProfessional Staff Presentation.</strong> Chapters that participate in the annual awards program are eligible. Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners may have one professional staff presentation at any chapter event during the year of their award. Each presentation is 60 minutes and is eligible for one CEC. These requests are fulfilled according to speakers’ schedules. If the requested speaker is unavailable, ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïstaff will reach out with options such as immediate past president or president-elect.</p> <p>Only requests submitted through a speaker request form will be considered. More topic areas are coming in 2024. </p> <h3><a id="3" name="3"></a></h3> <h3><strong>The Texas Association for Health Facilities Management partners with the San Antonio Food Bank to service communities in Southwest Texas during the ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏAnnual Conference </strong></h3> <p><img alt="TAHFM logo 200x80" data-entity-type="file" data-entity-uuid="2aebd9c3-3bdd-468c-a437-11acf51fdd71" src="/sites/default/files/inline-images/TAHFM-logo-200x80.png" width="200" height="80" class="align-left">The Texas Association for Health Facilities Management (TAHFM) served as the host chapter for the 2023 ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏAnnual Conference. In keeping with ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïtradition as host chapter, TAHFM sponsored a service project to give back to the community in which the Annual Conference was held.  </p> <p>The San Antonio Food Bank serves 100,000 individuals each week in one of the largest service areas in Texas. While fighting hunger is its number-one priority, the food bank also serves to provide education and assistance in many other ways. It serves the community through a variety of programs and resources available to families, individuals, seniors, children and military members in need.</p> <p>On Aug. 5, 2023, the members of TAHFM along with other ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïmembers teamed up with the San Antonio Food Bank to help fight hunger in a 29-county service area of southwest Texas. The volunteers for the service project donated over 100 pounds of food on-site, sorted 18,000 pounds of donations and donated more than $1,200 to the food bank. </p> <p>³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïthanks TAHFM for serving as the 2023 ³¯Ñô³Ô¹ÏAnnual Conference host chapter and for their contribution to the success of the conference.</p> <h3><a id="4" name="4"></a></h3> <h3><strong>2023 Chapter Awards Program Vouchers</strong></h3> <p>Chapters who participated in the 2023 Awards program earning Platinum Elite, Platinum, Silver and Bronze level status (for work completed in 2022) will receive vouchers redeemable for a complimentary year of ³¯Ñô³Ô¹Ïmembership, complimentary Certified Health Care Facility Manager or Health Care Constructor exam registration, or a complimentary publication. </p> <p>These vouchers will be emailed to chapter presidents no later than Nov. 1, 2023. Information on redeeming the complimentary Annual Conference vouchers will be distributed once registration for the 2024 Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference has opened.
